This mosaic was commissioned by a couple renovating their new apartment in the Financial District of Manhattan. They chose the color scheme, and asked for the green to fade into the white. This mosaic is entirely made of Italian-made ecosmalti from Morassutti. I fabricated this mosaic using the double-reverse on paper method to ensure that it was totally flat. I made it in 9 pieces that fit together like a puzzle. We decided to finish the edges of the mosaic with a metal liner to match the kitchen hardware, and surrounded it with tile I sourced. The install was done by Bella Tile and Mosaic.
